The return of piggy bank:
Implementing interactive saving feature into online banking

online piggy banking is a ux and ui design we made . It is very important for us to design while doing usability testing including interface design

As kids, didn’t we all love having a piggy bank? Dropping coins into the slot and watching our mounds of money grow? I’d hate for that simple joy of saving to be lost forever.

Soon enough we'll all be reminiscing about the days when it was the norm to pay for things with cash. We'll say - remember that? Remember when we had change in our pockets? Change in our cup holders? Change all around in the car? Or thrown on our desks?

That’s why I’ve been thinking about giving the piggy bank a digital makeover. Think about it: we do so much of our banking and spending online, why can’t we have some fun saving online as well? What I’ve got in mind is an interactive, online piggy bank feature that we (and our kids of course) can drag and drop virtual coins into. Our little online piggy bank would keep a saved total while also displaying the pile of coins that have been saved. This feature could be used to set savings goals, reward good behavior, and demonstrate the importance – as well as the fun – of saving.

While I'm fully aware that this isn't some revolutionary technological advancement, I do think such a simple “drag and drop a few bugs” feature can become attractive addition to any online banking service.

With this tool, your business could:

1. Increase saving accessibility

2. Add a sense of fun and games

3. Supply a ‘saving in a click’ tool

4. Open itself up to new audiences

5. Promote savings education

6. Enhance customer-site engagement, which motivates customers to return

7. Offer a broader approach to saving by integrating the piggy bank alongside traditional saving forms and wizards

Cash might be on its way out, but saving sure isn't it! Let’s keep the piggy bank savings alive…
